Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine

  • 2 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup of broken nuts (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven: to 350 degrees, Grease an 8x8x2” pan

Mix butter or margarine and chocolate over very low heat, stirring constantly; cool. Beat eggs till light. Stir in sugar, then chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing well. Add nuts

Bake in a greased 8” x 8” x 2” pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares

Dust with powdered sugar or make a frosting of powdered sugar, a small amount of butter, and a few drops of milk
